1. What Estima Is

Estima estimates the shape of your face and your natural colouring from photographs, and turns those estimates into styling suggestions: haircuts that suit the shape, a seasonal colour type, colours that lift you, colours that drain you, neutrals, combinations and metals.

That is the whole of what it does.

2. Not Professional Advice

ESTIMA DOES NOT PROVIDE MEDICAL, DERMATOLOGICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, COSMETIC-SURGICAL OR ANY OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE, AND IS NOT A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.

Nothing in the Service is a clinical assessment of your skin, your hair, your eyes or your health. Readings such as undertone, depth, contrast and chroma describe how you appear in a photograph. They are not measurements of anything about your body, and they must not be read as one.

If a photograph, or anything you notice while taking one, raises a health concern, take it to a qualified professional. Do not take it to a styling tool.

3. Results Are Estimates

The reading is produced by an automated system looking at photographs, and photographs lie in predictable ways.

• Lighting, shadow, camera, filters, makeup, hair colouring and the angle of a shot all change what the system sees
• Two photographs of the same person, taken in different conditions, can produce different readings
• Where the system is unsure, the Service says so instead of pretending to a precision it does not have, and it offers you a way to correct the reading yourself
• Our reference data and the rules that turn readings into suggestions are ours, and we change them as they improve. A later scan may therefore differ from an earlier one

4. Estima Does Not Rate People

There is no score, no rank, no percentile and no comparison against anyone else. Face shape is a shape, not a grade. A colour season describes which colours sit well next to your own colouring, and nothing more.

Estima is deliberately built not to tell you where you stand against other people, and it never will. If you are looking for a tool that assigns people a number, this is not it.

5. Your Decisions Are Your Own

Haircuts, hair colour, cosmetic treatments, clothing and purchases you make after using Estima are your own decisions, taken on your own judgement.

We are not responsible for the outcome, including the cost of anything you buy, the result of anything you do to your hair, or a suggestion that turns out not to suit you. Use a mirror and your own eyes as the final check. They are better instruments than any of this.

6. Age

Estima is available only to people aged 18 or over, as set out in the Terms of Service.
