Table of Contents
1. What We Set
Estima sets only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Service to function.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
sb-* | Sign-in session issued by Supabase Auth. Without it you cannot stay signed in. | Session, refreshed while you use the Service |
estima_age_ok | Records that you confirmed you are 18 or over, so you are not asked on every visit. Holds the outcome only, never your date of birth. | 180 days |
estima_age_blocked | Records that an age confirmation failed, so the same screen is not shown in a loop. | 180 days |
estima_cid | A random identifier with no personal meaning, used to count scan attempts and prevent abuse. Not linked to your identity. | 180 days |
All four are first-party. None of them is readable by a third party, and none of them follows you to another website.
2. What We Do Not Use
- No advertising cookies
- No analytics or measurement cookies
- No third-party tracking, pixels, or social widgets
- No cross-site profiling of any kind
If that ever changes, this notice changes first, and the Privacy Policy sub-processor list changes with it.
3. Why There Is No Consent Banner
Under the ePrivacy Directive, consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary. Every cookie listed above is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for: staying signed in, respecting an age check you already completed, and stopping abuse of a scan endpoint with a limited daily capacity.
Since we set nothing else, there is nothing to ask you to accept, and interrupting you with a banner that has only one meaningful answer would be theatre rather than consent.
4. Managing Cookies
You can delete or block cookies at any time in your browser settings.
- Deleting the session cookie signs you out
- Deleting the age cookies means you will be asked to confirm your age again
- Deleting the identifier cookie resets your local attempt counter, but not the limits applied at the level of the Service as a whole
Blocking cookies entirely will prevent sign-in from working, since a session cannot be maintained without one.
